Leaving Memphis to go further South. Bye Elvis and co.
Heading directly South on Interstate 55 to Jackson before taking a right towards Natchez (Mississippi).
A lot of miles and feeling a bit tired tonight. Nothing much to report.
Drove part of the route (the last 80kms) from Clinton to Natchez. This is the last section of the so-called Natchez Trace Parkway which is the old historic route between Nashville and Natchez.
Beautiful bit of road winding through the woods. It made a nice change of the interstates. A bit slow though. Only saw 3 cars and 4 motorbikes.
The hotel we were booked in was a disaster and despite the fact it was paid in advance, we simply left and thanks to booking.com got something a lot more comfortable.
Went to Fat Mama Tamales for a snack and a cold one.
All in all a bit disappointed with Natchez. Not much life around. The weather is not brilliant either.
There are some really nice old houses but no centre to speak of.
Anyway, moving on tomorrow after visiting a couple of the old indian villages.
