The virus is not slowing down yet. The USA has become with 83.836 infections (15,8% of the world total) the nation with the most cases. But do not fear Mr Trump assured the country that it will be ok by Easter in 2 weeks time. I shall follow this very closely.

The Prime Minister Edouard Philippe is due to make an annoucement today. I shall keep en eye on it and report .

Do not forget that this weekend we switch to Summer Time

There will be an official statement tomorrow but prolonging the current confinement period till April 15th (at least) has been announced.

In this period of Covid-19 health crisis, you wish to make yourself useful, to give your time to help the most destitute and vulnerable. A civic mobilisation platform jeveuxaider.gouv.fr in connection with the associative networks has just opened. It enables you to help the various structures (associations, CCAS, MDPH, local authorities, public operators, etc.) in their missions.

The jeveuxaider.gouv.fr platform answers all the questions you may have about the proposed missions, the methods of participation and the precautions to be taken during the missions.

What are the proposed missions? You can volunteer for:

Participate in the distribution of basic necessities (food, hygiene…) and meals to the most disadvantaged
Exceptionally keep children of caregivers or a structure of the Child Welfare
Maintain the link (telephone, video, mail…) with isolated fragile people: the elderly, sick or disabled
Shopping for essential products for the neighbours (fragile, isolated, handicapped).

How does it work?

The missions available all over France can be consulted without registering through the Find a mission section. The number of volunteers sought as well as the number of places remaining are indicated. The field of action, the objective and the description of the mission are described. To participate, you must register by filling in your identity and contact details.

What are the rules to respect?

Keep a safe distance of at least one metre from the beneficiaries and other volunteers
Apply barrier gestures to protect yourself and protect the beneficiaries and other volunteers
Remind and explain the safety rules and barrier gestures to the beneficiaries and other volunteers
Inform the association as soon as possible if there is any doubt of infection and stay at home
Engage in remote missions from home if you are 70 years old or older or have a chronic disease.

►Information: Message from OUI SNCF

The SNCF Group has therefore reduced the circulation of its TGV INOUI and Intercités trains, and will stop the circulation of its OUIGO trains from Friday 27 March.

More than ever at your side in this difficult period, we are doing everything we can to help fight against the spread of Covid-19, and we support the medical and paramedical staff who have free access to the TGV INOUI and Intercités trains in circulation.

In this exceptional context, only travellers with a ticket, their certificate of derogatory travel and proof of travel will be allowed to board our trains.

All traffic information is indicated on OUI.sncf every day at 5pm for the next 3 days.
Rest assured that we are fully mobilised to assist you in your efforts. Exceptional measures have been put in place to facilitate the exchange and refund of your tickets free of charge.
