I was looking for the formula 1 calendar and dates of the next race in France when I came across a picture of this rifle called FRF1. It brought back floods of memories since it was the rifle I had whilst in the army in my capacity of snipper / marksman / tireur d’élite. Of course we are going back to 1975 in the mountain section of the 27th Bataillon de Chasseurs Alpins.

In those days hitting something at 800 metres was not a problem as long as one could evaluate fairly accurately the wind which is not an easy task in the mountains. There were 3 of us in the section who were qualified and we received special training.

Some great memories despite the cold, exhaustion and nights inside igloos.
