Day 3 of the 4th week of confinement in France
Thursday April 9th 2020
Some say that the best measure of the situation is the number of cases in intensive care. This is the curve for France up until yesterday where there are 7,148 (+17 on the previous day) patients in reanimation. It looks to me that despite the large numbers, there is a definite flattening of the curve. One can only hope a peak has been reached and that it should encourage people to stay at home even longer.
►Information: President
Now planned for Monday April 13th
►Information: Supplies
Ordered yesterday afternoon, delivered this morning. Approx 38 litres of wine for day to day nourishment by the pool.
►Information: Masks
The Academy of Medicine has come out in favour of the compulsory wearing of masks to combat the Covid-19 coronavirus, particularly after the containment period. The government has not yet given any direction on this issue. “We will make a decision on whether to extend masks to the entire population as soon as we can build it on scientific consensus.” The World Health Organization (WHO) “does not recommend the use of masks in the general population”.
►Fun bit:
►Information: As usual more to come during the day if available
☠️ The dreaded daily statistics 💀
► International Statistics: Top 10 countries according to the deaths count.
Wednesday April 8th
Tuesday April 7th
► Percentage increase of deaths from one day to the other:
I have added a column with the number increase from 1 day to the other which probably is somewhat more indicative of the problem areas.
► Regional Statistics: Occitanie & Aude
► Statistics: Percentage of cases by country v population (1.000 cases or more only)
