I was slightly bored yesterday morning so I re-designed slightly the “Confinement Posts” layout. A new look for the first day of the prolonged confinement period of 4 weeks (until Monday May 11th) as announced on TV last evening by the President Mr Macron.
✒︎ Public places, restaurants, cafés, hotels, cinemas, theatres, concert halls will, however, remain closed also after May 11th. Festivals will be cancelled until at least mid-July.
✒︎ People at risk with ongoing conditions will still need to be confined after May 11th unless overall conditions change.
✒︎ EU borders remain closed. London was mentioned so I can only assumed the UK is still considered as part of the EU for these measures.
✒︎ The use of digital tracking methods are being developed and will be introduced on a volunteer basis.
✒︎ Within 2 weeks a plan for coming out of confinement will be announced
✒︎ By May 11th, everyone showing some symptoms will have access to a test
✒︎ Schools will start re-opening from May 11th onwards. That does not apply to universities at this stage. It is unlikely the later will reopen before the summer.

Information & News
▶︎ I guess more news will be available in particular from the region / town of Carcassonne when they have had a chance to sit down in the townhall.
▶︎ I suspect the Festival in July must be canceled as well the fireworks. They both bring too big a crowd.
▶︎ Here is a message I have jut received from our friend Alphonse on behalf of the Club Prosper Montagné: You will find below the menu for next WE proposed by Valérie and Sébastien de l’Ambrosia in Pezens. I am sure you can understand the menu although written in French. It is available for delivery or take away.
▶︎ We have a new recipe from Caroll and namely Mango Chutney
▶︎ We also have 3 new recipes from Guy and namely Breast of Duck, Italian meatballs and Shallots in a red currant sauce. They will be uploaded during the day.
▶︎ The recipes index and links can be found here
I had to remove the links to the printable formats because someone was, most likely inadvertently, downloading them and deleting them. If printable versions are needed, please write a comment and I shall email them to you.
▶︎ There is a lot of controversy regarding the use of Chloroquine to treat patients affected by the Covid-19 virus. I personally take it orally as a preventive measure and have no apparent side effects.
The dreaded Statistics
1. International Statistics: Top 10 countries according to the deaths count
2. International Statistics: Percentage increase of deaths from one day to the other:
2. International Statistics: Cases by country v population (1.000 cases or more only)
4. Nation3l Statistics: France
See Dashboard at the top
5. Regional Statistics: Occitanie & Aude
After 5 days with a daily decrease in hospital cases, we have to note an increase in the past 24 hours.
Thanks so much JJ for the translation. Very very kind of you to have done this. It was a LONG speech LOL. But somewhat uplifting too.
