It is now also official there will be no firework on July 14th in Carcassonne. It happened once before I am told and at the time the firework were postponed till Christmas time. I personally think tat this year the town should save the money and possibly use it to help small businesses which might go bust.
I guess I could / should move for a weeks on this French part of the world. The small island of Saint-Barthélemy, in the West Indies, has decided to lift the swimming ban after 
a month of confinement, despite the extension announced by Emmanuel Macron until 11 May. The 10,000 inhabitants can thus enjoy the turquoise waters of the island’s ten heavenly beaches, but always within the framework set by the government: you must tick the “physical activity” box on the certificate of exemption from leaving the island, and not swim for more than one hour. Swimming outings must be done alone or with people sharing the same home. No “permanent installation on the beach. We swim and dry ourselves”.
There is a exemption certificate for travelling to and from French overseas territories.
