Day 40
Today is World Penguin Day, I am sure you all wanted to know that. Not too many of them in this part of the world but it makes a nice change to talk about something else than confinement, Corona Virus and the bullshit from Trump.
Inspiration is somewhat failing me this morning. Is it because it is Saturday and it actually feels like a Saturday and Saturday mornings are for going to the market, meet up with friends at Café Saillan to sample a few glasses of wine. None of this is possible today.
Anyway, time to go through all the newspapers on line and see what and if there are news developments.

▶︎ Hairdressers
Hair salons should open their doors from Monday, May 11, almost two months after they close. A working hairdresser will have to be equipped with a mask and glasses or a transparent plastic visor that covers his face; the barber, who during a cut is very exposed to his client’s breath and therefore to spittle, will have to wear a mask and a visor. Each hairdresser will have to sit their clients more than one metre away from another. Same rule when shampooing.
▶︎ Masks
While the sale of masks to the general public is still prohibited since the publication of decree 2020-247 of March 13, the confederation of tobacconists announces that it has the authorization to sell them. Implementation on April 30. Expected price 5€.
▶︎ Restaurants
The starred chefs who have put strong media pressure on the authorities to reopen the restaurants without delay, at the end of the lockdown on 11 May, will have to be patient. Restaurants could reopen “between 2 and 20 June” if the coronavirus epidemic subsides, according to multi-star chef Alain Ducasse, interviewed by AFP after a meeting of the restaurant sector with president Emmanuel Macron yesterday. The government said the decision on the date of the reopening would be taken at the end of May.
▶︎ Amazon
Amazon announced Friday, April 24th to extend until Tuesday the temporary closure of its warehouses in France, after a new decision of justice imposing a real evaluation of the risks related to the epidemic of Covid-19.
Food & Drinks
Nothing new today except we had the idea in yesterday’s “Virtual Apéritif” to try and organise a delivery of Fish & Chips. Sam and I need to get our heads together on this.
