Day 55 in Carcassonne and 1st day of controlled de-confinement

Who would want to go out in this weather. I think I shall spend the 1st day of gradual de-confinement at home the same way I did during the past 8 weeks. In fact I have no intention of tempting fate and will carry on for the next couple of weeks with extremely limited sorties.

I have received a couple of alerts regarding the weather and the large amount of rain expected during the next 12 hours.

The river Aude, at the time of writing, is under yellow alert downstream from Carcassonne.

4pm: The situation is getting slighly worse. The whole of the river Aude is now yellow.

The ports are opened on the Méditerranéen as of today. Sailing is allowed but no further than 60 sea miles and a maximum of 10 people on a boat.

I have received confirmation that the lac is open if you fancy walking around it in the rain.

▶︎ Mairie

Starting Monday, May 11, the city hall is open to the public. In order to limit the lines to the maximum, every person to go to town hall is asked to make an appointment with the service concerned. For this only one number to contact: ☎️ 04 68 777 111

▶︎ Prefecture

The Prefecture is opened again and one needs to make an appointment prior to go there. Foreigners who had and obviously missed a rendez-vous in the past few weeks for matters relating to their residence permits, should contact the prefecture by email pref.etrangers@aude.gouv.fr with the initial invitation, copy of the residence permit or long term visa, telephone number and postal address.

I do not know if any of you are concerned.

For the few who would be allowed to travel to the UK, they would be no quarantine coming from France and vice versa. That was agreed yesterday between B.Johnson & E.Macron.

I do not quite understand the logic behind this.
