La vérité d’aujourd’hui n’est pas forcément vraie demain

I wish
Another grey day in perpective. It is a good thing I have a few “TODOs” on today’s list. I have put back together my Pioneer HiFi centre which has been left untouched since our move to Carcassonne 3 years ago. This is part of my project to make a hobby room. So far the spare flat scree TV is up there, my Play Station is back in use and is useful because it gives me access to Netflix & Amazon etc. The afore mentioned HiFi will be tested later on this morning whan I am alone at home and can turn up the volume. Looking forward to that.
I was also wondering how long I should carry on with the “Confinement Day” posts. There are not many news to be seen and importantly it would appear that countries are becoming very negligent in their reporting of data, if at all. I’ll give it a go till the end of this confinement week 8 and probably revert to my normal blog activities.

▶︎ Trains
The SNCF announced Thursday evening that it will open up ticket bookings for this summer from today, Friday 15 May.
Although travel is still limited to 100 km at the moment, except for special reasons, a new situation report scheduled for 2 June could change things even further.
▶︎ Single-use masks
The duration of use of a single-use mask is usually a few hours, depending on the model. The National Medicines Agency recommends that it should not be worn for more than four hours. You should therefore plan to wear several for a day away from home.
It is recommended to discard it after these hours of use or as soon as it gets wet or damaged, but not just any way. To remove a mask and discard it, you must :
- Wash hands before and after, and remove the mask by touching only the laces or elastics, without touching the potentially contaminated front.
- Put it in a small dedicated plastic bag, or even in a second package if the first bag is torn.
- The government recommends that once the bag is filled, it should be “carefully resealed and stored for 24 hours.
- After 24 hours, it should be discarded in the household garbage bag.
- Single-use masks (such as tissues, wipes and gloves) should not be placed in the recyclable or yellow bin, the government warns.
▶︎ Municipal elections
The Prime Minister announced that the municipal councils elected in the first round of municipal elections on March 15 will take office on May 18 and will be able to hold their installation meeting which means among other tasks that they will elect a mayor.
This represents approximately 30.000 towns in France out of 35.000. It also certainly means that there will not be a complete new election round as suggested and requested by some parties.
The second round in the approx. 5.000 towns remaining will probably take place in September after the summer holidays.
