Today is Ascencion day, a bank holiday and also father’s day if you live in Germany. The bank holiday part does not make any real change to our current day to day life at this time of  confinement.

EasyJet just announced that planes will be able to take off again. The British airline announced that it intends to resume certain flights from 15 June, mainly on routes “within the United Kingdom and France”.

▶︎ Additional derogations

The Prefect Sophie Elizéon signed between Monday 18 May and this Wednesday 20 May a series of decrees which extend the number of natural and cultural sites concerned by derogatory authorizations of access or opening.

On 15 May, the Prefect of the Aude, Sophie Elizéon, signed a decree signifying the opening of access to numerous beaches along the Aude coast, reminding us of the importance of respecting barrier gestures and physical distance. Sites where walking, swimming, leisure fishing, individual sports and leisure activities and boating were authorised. On Tuesday 19 May, a new prefectoral decree was issued to extend the list of beaches and bodies of water of the coastal municipalities concerned by these authorisations, including the Grazel beach in Gruissan. A new article also specifies that nautical activities are authorised after the opinion of the mayor of the municipality if the establishment of physical and sports activities (EAPS) has and applies a plan for the prevention and protection of the risk of human-to-human contamination and a protocol of sanitary measures defined by the sports federation.

Another new derogation in terms of leisure activities, with a decree authorising the gradual resumption of pleasure boating on the Canal des Deux-Mers. The prefectoral decree, signed this Wednesday 20 May, thus authorises the navigation of passenger boats of tourist type, without catering or berths, without crossing navigational structures; the wearing of a protective mask is obligatory for all persons over 11 years of age. The text lays down the same provisions for pleasure boats and craft, whether privately owned or hired, recalling that the rule of limited movement within a radius of 100 km also applies.

Finally, on Monday 18 May, a series of prefectoral decrees granted derogatory authorisations to open a multitude of , while recalling the ban on gatherings of more than 10 people: Fontfroide Abbey, the castles of Saissac, Lastours, Aguilar (commune of Tuchan), Peyrepertuse (commune of Duilhac), the parts and private areas of Lagrasse Abbey, the Essar(t)s site in Bram, the museum on the estate of Abbot Saunière in Rennes-le-Château.
