Day 79 – 4th day of de-confinement phase II

Friday
So, we are allowed to move around wherever we wish in France but we are waiting patiently to see when we can start crossing borders. The governement had originally said that an annoucement would be made mid-June after concertation with our EU partners.
But in the meantime all kind of confusing and everchanging informations are being leaked out. Sapin just announced open borders from July 1st without quarantine which is not what was stated only a week ago.
I think it is best to wait a few more days for the official statements and ignore anything which is said in the meantime.
Some of us and this despite the showery weather met up yesterday afternoon for an early afternoon coffe and drinks place Carnot. It felt good to be able to enjoy this “new freedom”.

Information, news and tips

Some of the data available on Covid-19 does not appear to make sense. I think some countries are reviewing the way they count and what they count. We know that every country counts differetnly and it is dangereous to try and compare. However trends in each country should be reliable. Not so the case when for instance 30.000 cases simply disappear in France according to one agency. On the other hand the new fifures are now in line with another agency so I assume we are now working with the correct figure of 152.444 cases in France as of yesterday evening. It was over 188.000 a couple of says ago. Did that include all the overseas territories? I suspect it did.
There are a lot of offers and cheap train tickets on offer for this summer. This is a major effort from the SNCF to get things rolling again.
The coronavirus crisis has hit French wine producers, whose unsold stocks are at their highest. From this Friday, these millions of litres of alcohol can be used to make hydroalcoholic gel and bioethanol, in return for compensation.
