Day 121 – 34 th day of de-confinement phase III

Saturday

The situation currently in Occitanie and our “departement Aude” is calm enough (see statistics). There is even a slight reduction of hospitalised people since last week. This is not the case in some other areas in France and the expected second wave is on every news channel.

Meanwhile the increase in cases in the USA, India and Brazil is growing on a daily basis. The governor of Georgia is taking the mayor of Atlanta to court because the latter has decreed the obligation to wear masks. No additional comments necessary.

THE VIRUS IS STILL OUT THERE

Information, news and tips

►We have a almost complete new governement in France. A lot of annoucements were made at the beginning of the week by the new Prime Minister on the goals for the next 600 days before the presidential election. Plans which have been largely approved by parliement.

► On Friday 17 July, the news came like a cold shower: to deal with a rebound in the epidemic, the Catalan regional government has ordered a kind of pre-reconfinement of Barcelona and 12 municipalities in the metropolitan area – almost 4 million inhabitants. Not only have nearly 1,425 positive cases been registered in the last seven days in Spain’s second largest city and its suburbs, but the Catalan health authorities have lost control of several clusters, opening the door to “community” transmission.

► Just came across the “Lincoln Project” which is basically US Republicans against Trump. Quite interesting.
