Day 1 of Confinement period #2

So here we go for a second round of confinement. One month to start with but it will be reviewed every week. For some reason, I do not feel too optimimistic about the whole affair. The numbers are going up much faster than during the 1st wave and winter is almost with us which will most likely strengthen the virus even more.

On 28 October 2020, the President of the Republic decided to take measures to reduce contacts and travel throughout the country to the strictest minimum by establishing a confinement from 30 October to 1 December minimum.

Here are the main points

Travel is prohibited except in the following cases and only upon certification (see links below) for :

Travel between home and the place of work or universities (or higher education establishments) for students or adult education centres and business travel that cannot be postponed.
Travelling to make purchases of supplies needed for professional activity, basic necessities in establishments whose activities remain authorised (list on gouvernement.fr) and home deliveries;
Consultations and care that cannot be provided at a distance and cannot be postponed, and the purchase of medicines;
Travel for compelling family reasons, for assistance to vulnerable and precarious persons or for childcare;
Travel for people with disabilities and their carers;
Short journeys, within the limit of one hour per day and within a maximum radius of one kilometre around the home, related either to the individual physical activity of the persons, excluding any collective sporting practice and any proximity with other persons, or to walking with only the persons grouped together in the same home, or to the needs of pets;
Judicial or administrative summons and visits to public services;
Participation in missions of general interest at the request of the administrative authority.

✒︎ 1 Kilometre radius: The link I had used to draw a 1km radius around your home adress is still valid and can be found here.

The 1km restriction will put a stop to the recent walks we have enjoyed. The last one earlier this week was near Gruissan in the Massif de la Clape.
