🔹 Here is another unusual saying:
🇫🇷 Tomber dans les pommes
🇬🇧 Literary translation: fall in the apples
🇬🇧 Actual meaning: faint, pass out
🇩🇪 aus den Latschen kippen

🔹 De-confinement?
It is a decisive week that begins to get out of confinement. Emmanuel Macron had set the objective of reducing daily contaminations to 5,000 new cases and between 2,500 and 3,000 patients in intensive care. These figures were becoming synonymous with a return to the cinema, the museum and the Christmas holidays away from home. If the objective is approaching for patients in intensive care, we are at 3,200 people, on the other hand the figures from Santé Publique France estimate that there have been 11,000 new cases in the last 24 hours.
At weekends, there is less data from the laboratories. On Friday we were rather around 13,000 between the PCR tests and the rapid antigens which are beginning to gain strength. So we are not yet at the objectives set by the President of the Republic. Even if the rate of positivity (the number of cases of Covid, according to the number of tests carried out) has fallen in one week: from 13 to 10%.
🔹China

I have received a very interesting presentation about China (thank you Mr B) which I can only recommend if you want to start understanding this gigantic country.
My experience having lived over there, in Shangai, for a short while is that we are dealing with a “not-so-sleeping-dragon”.
Any single governement pretending they are negotiating deals one to one with China is a fool. They are simply too powerful. And they are still waking up from the devasting Mao Tse-Tung years.
I would say that the potential of a good 75% of the population is still untapped.
Here is the link on My Cloud to the said PDF presentation (I hope it works)
🔹Magic roundabout – Porte des Jacobins
It reopens this Wednesday. The only ride of any kind for the kids this pre-Christmas season.
