As expected, Christmas is preserved. Phew! But it will be the only one of the two end of year holidays. The 31st, which we thought was spared, finally goes up in the air. No formal interdiction to gather with friends (should not exceed 6 all together). However, the curfew from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. starting Tuesday promises to be very controlled for New Year’s Eve. This is enough to make most of us not want to do anything other than stay quiet under the covers on New Year’s Eve

🔹Delays for Sanofi and GSK… French laboratories Sanofi and GSK of the UK announced that their Covid vaccine would not be ready until the end of 2021. The conduct of the program “is delayed in order to improve the immune response in the elderly”.

At a meeting with mountain professionals yesterday, Jean Castex advanced January 7 as a potential date for the reopening of the ski lifts.

For the time being, next Wednesday and Thursday look good enough for a trip and a long walk at the sea side maybe since it will be allowed to travel as from the 15th and I do not suppose there will be many people around. Got to keep safe.

A lot of rain coming from the west where there are quite a few flooding areas.

The rain clouds are pregressing slowly towards us. I think we can expect quite some snow falls on the mountains.

🔹 Vendée Globe

Quite an exciting week. The boat Charral which had to return for repairs a day after the start and started again 3 days later, has now caught up with the back markers at the level of the Cape of Good Hope. He is fact as the time of writing second to last and 3,608 nautical miles behind the leaders. A remarquable effort.
