Day 45 of the second confinement & 11 days left till 🌲Christmas 🌲
🔷🔷🔷

So, after spending half the night going through 🍏Apple forums, I took the plunge this morning and, as recommended by a few, removed in a first step the RAM boards from the computer 🖥. I was then able to boot the machine till the obvious error message “No RAM” appeared but that was expected. I turned everything off, replaced the RAMs where they should be and started the beast.
I started without a problem, the only thing was that the fan was running at full speed. I tried many times to follow steps as decribed below to no avail.

Off course I had no clue what the SMC was in the first place

Anyway, time to go back to the forums till I found another helpful set of instructions:

And that did the trick. The computer is back in the office and I cannot remember it running so quietly. If I was drinking, this would be the right time for a well earned whisky. (I have to clarify that I wrote this last evening, even when imbibing, I would not start so early in the day).

Original Targets for December 15th
The number of new daily cases is simply not going down

The rolling daily average over a week really shos how frustatingly stagnating the number of new cases are.

Latest info on PCR Tests
Since December 8th, in addition to the results of PCR tests, the results of antigenic tests have been used to produce national and territorial epidemiological indicators (incidence rate, positivity rate and screening rate).
I think it is quite incredible to see that 42% of the population has already been tested (that is assuming 1 test per head of course)

🔹 Top 10 countries according to new Corona Virus cases
Quite disappointing in the UK and Germany.
🇩🇪 In Germany, school vacations are extended by one week. Angela Merkel imposes a turn of the screw in the face of the “exponential” increase in contamination. The threshold of 30,000 infections was approached on Friday and Saturday. Germany, already in “light confinement” for six weeks, with the closure of bars and restaurants, will therefore enter into partial confinement Wednesday, for more than three weeks, with the closure of “non-essential” shops and schools.
🇬🇧 In the United Kingdom, three households allowed to celebrate Christmas together
Despite the start of the vaccination campaign, which primarily concerns the elderly and caregivers, the United Kingdom remains cautious. The epidemiological situation is precarious, with an outbreak of cases in London and the southeast of the country. However, the British authorities have decided to ease the restrictions for a few days.
Three different households will be able to come together for a maximum of five days from December 23 to 27. Families will be able to travel within the United Kingdom, but the rules vary by region. In large parts of the country, two different homes are not allowed to meet indoors. Throughout England, any reunion is limited to six people.

Pleasant walk yesterday afternoon in the area of Marseillette. The sun was partly shining and the temperature around 14ºC was pleasantly mild.
