For those interested in epic motor sport, the Dakar Rally started yesterday. The biggest rally-raid in the world. I am looking forward to following the progress during the next 12 days.

On Friday, January 1, 2021, Portugal took over the rotating presidency of the Council of the European Union from Germany, a role that promises to be demanding during a six-month period that will continue to be marked by the response to the health crisis.

Burial of overhead cables and harmonization of parasols on terraces
Beginning in January 2021, the City will begin burying the cables and overhead networks in Place Carnot, which will ensure the site’s safety while improving its aesthetics. This work, which is part of the Action Cœur de Ville plan, is just the beginning of a vast plan to enhance the remarkable local heritage desired by the Mayor. The city will be working to harmonize all the street furniture in the square, including the installation of identical umbrellas on all the shop terraces.
