Local Confinement Daily – January 24th 2021

Day 86 of the second confinement period

🇫🇷

Daily snapshot

2.035.000 doses have been received since Decembre 26th which means that all 1.008.720 already vaccinated once are getting their 2nd shot. I also means that new vaccinations are 100% dependant on the daily supplies received. Hence the discussions about making the interval between shots longer in order to vaccinate more people with the 1st injection. This is already happening in some other countries.

▫️3rd Confinement: “The decision is about to be taken” according to sources close to the executive. Emmanuel Macron could take the floor as early as Wednesday evening, after the health defence council, for an entry into force at the end of the weekt. The duration of this third confinement could be three weeks. The limitation of exits and movements should be accompanied by a partial closure or a reduction in the opening hours of “non-essential shops”. The option that would envisage a closure of schools is excluded for the time being.

▫️ The incidence rate for the country has gone over the 200 level and is judged as critical. This will / should add to the 3rd confinement decision.

Went to Nailloux on Friday

Despite the rain, we went shopping to make the most of the sales. As is usually the cases, the place is almost deserted although the car park appearedto be full. No problem with social distancing. Anyway, bought loads and it is only 45 minutes away.
