▫️ NEW MONTH

▫️ SAND A new sand cloud from the Sahara arrives in the south of France, the third in a month.
▫️ Archaeologists in Italy have unearthed an ancient Roman ceremonial carriage from a villa just outside Pompeii, the city buried in a volcanic eruption in 79 AD.
The almost perfectly preserved four-wheeled carriage made of iron, bronze and tin was found near the stables of an ancient villa at Civita Giuliana, some 700 metres (2,297 feet) north of the walls of ancient Pompeii.
▫️ Oaks from the forest of Amboise are selected for the frame of Notre-Dame de Paris. There will be a bit of Touraine in the future roof structure of Notre-Dame de Paris. Several private forest owners have responded to the call of the Unisylva cooperative to donate hundred-year-old oak trees. The ideal tree should be straight, between 5 and 21 metres high and have a diameter of more than 50 cm.
▫️ PEUGEOT
It does not happen often but Peugeot is changing its identity logo. The last time was in 2010. That apart, I quite like their new range of cars. I am tempted by the Hybrids and the new Electric 2008.

✒️ Aliens? Full moon? DON’T PANIC!!
Baffled shoppers wonder why they were locked out of their cars when their key fobs stopped working outside Tesco in Hertfordshire
Hertfordshire Police said they had received around 100 reports of the problem. Frustrated shoppers blamed aliens after their car key fobs stopped working outside a Tesco in Hertfordshire.
Police say they received around 100 reports in three days from people using the supermarket in Royston, Hampshire. Hertfordshire Police admitted they didn’t know the cause of the issues, though they added it ‘was not being treated as malicious intent’.
Frustrated shoppers took to social media to speculate about the cause of the problem, with one woman joking about aliens and another about ‘there being a full moon tonight’. Police also urged people ‘not to panic’ if they could not access their cars at the site and said to report difficulties to the supermarket.
Any ideas?
✒️ Weather spotting
White rainbow spotted close to M5 motorway near Bristol
A rare white rainbow has been photographed close to the M5 motorway near Bristol. The meteorological phenomenon was spotted by Kieran Argo while out walking in fields near Pill, early on Saturday morning.
Also known as a fogbow, cloud bow or ghost of a rainbow, the arc is formed when sunlight interacts with small water droplets in fog, mist or cloud. A classical rainbow is created when sunlight interacts with raindrops.
Mr Argo said: “It just appeared. It was a very distinct white arc and looked just like a white rainbow and was similar in size. “It’s the first time I’ve ever seen one.”
Argo along with that!
▫️ MUSIC OF 1969
After a brilliant 1968, 1969 came and promised to be quite a “sturdy” year. Some of us were sent to boarding schools to make up mainly for the setbacks due to May 1968’s revolution (best excuse ever) but not only for that reason. Some of us escaped on a regular basis. All in all 1969 was a great year. So here is some of the music which will for sure bring back memories to the gang (La Bande)
You cannot think of the year 1969 without this gem of a song
