● AstraZeneca should no longer be used in Moselle, 60,000 people have already received it. The vaccine is not effective enough against the South African variant which circulates a lot in Moselle, warns the French National Authority for Health which recommends the use of other vaccines.
It is an earthquake in the fight against Covid-19. On Friday 9 April 2021, the High Authority for Health (HAS) officially recommended that the AstraZeneca vaccine should no longer be administered in the Moselle department. The vaccine, which is already a cause for concern in Europe, is not effective enough against the South African variant which is very present in the department. It is also the most affected area in the country.
Are we moving towards a halt to vaccination with AstraZeneca in Moselle? In any case, 60,000 people have already received this vaccine since the launch of the vaccination campaign. A government decision is expected to remove the doubt that hangs over the vaccination campaign in the department.
Cloudy and windy and wet for the next couple of days.
